2005 Mobilephone Conference & Exhibition that shows the flow of mobilephone related business such as mobile TV, 3D game, advertisements and trend of modern mobilephone technology development, analyzed the trend of mobilephone technology with 13 foreign lecturers and 40 Korean lecturers, in total 53 mobilephone professional making presentations. Unlike last years, this year’s conference was largely well received by the participants by preparing a time to analyze one thesis from diverse aspects by reinforcing discussions of many mobilephone issues.
On the 14th, the representative Kim Hyun Jin of BORAENC started with the title ‘future perspective of mobilephone industry’ and ended the morning with presentations of ‘future of IC for 3G mobilephones’ and ‘evolution of media processor and mobilephone convergence’. On this day, Jon Peddie president, who lectured of evolution of media processor and mobilephone convergence said, “It became much easier to find roads as GPS and 3D functions were added to the existing 2D based mobilephones. It is now easier to find ways with 3 dimensional maps, and not two-dimension map. Also, we can see the Korean interpretation version through the mobilephone screen when we show the camera onto the English version screen with the additional interpretation function added to the phone cameras. For example, we can completely learn about the mobilephone before we purchase the product abroad”. Also, he added, “As a link to mobilephone convergence, a projector can be settled to mobilephones. It means that a mobilephone on the table in a meeting can be used as a mini projector”.
In the afternoon, the lecture was progressed in three fields. At this time, foreign and Korean mobilephone professionals made presentations about modern mobilephone trend and technology such as low-power technology, mobile contents, Young Digital Lifestyle, wireless Internet, platform, and ended the schedule of the 14th in an active environment with heated discussions between the parties concerned in Korean mobilephone businesses.
On the 15th, chairman of Cronous Group and vice-president of Nvidia, Neil Trevett made a presentation about ‘the present and future of mobile graphic processing’, ‘global business perspective of wireless Internet service’, and ‘current status and perspective of mobile game platform’. And the morning was concluded with a discussion about ‘the perspective of mobile industry lectured from mobile venture companies’ with Lee Ji Hyun manager of SK Telecom and Han Hye Mi chief director of LG Telecom; former who was awarded with Mobile Venture Choice on the 14th, and the latter a judge for ‘Zenitum Entertainment Computing’ and ‘Citus’.
The afternoon lecture on the 15th was progressed divided into 4 tracks. This period of time was a chance to know the level of differences in viewing RFID, smart phone, mobile TV, 3D graphic, and mobile UI in the form of discussions and presentations by foreign and Korean lecturers.
We thank all the participants, lecturers, and participating businesses in this exhibition, and all those who put effort into this event. It was a place to see the future technology of mobilephones, and we wish it was a place to help preparations for new businesses. We promise to see you again with even more rich full conference and exhibition in the next year’s MPC2006.
